We love you! Word Book

Here is a gift ensemble including a card, word book, and altered cashew nut can that I created for my dad for his birthday a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to make something that he would be able to display in his office since he is there most of the time! His favorite kind of nuts are cashews, so when I passed them in the grocery aisle and they were on sale, I knew it would be the perfect addition to the book! I simply covered the can with the same decorative papers that I used on his word book. His favorite colors are blue and green and I thought this paper would be perfect.  This word album is made of a thin chipboard type material (cut with my cricut) and covered with decorative coordinating papers. I embellished it with ribbons, stamps, brads, diecuts, and flowers. It has four pages: WE, heart shape, YOU, and an exclamation point. Each page has quotes, journaling, and many photos. This book is about 5 1/2 inches tall, and about 12 inches wide. I bound it together with my bind it all and tied lots of ribbons around the coils.  I can make a custom album for you and show you how to decorate it. We can use any combination of words and/or letters and shapes. These are a really popular scrapbooking item right now, and I am sure that anyone would love to receive one as a gift from you this holiday season. They are fairly simple to put together and I would love to show you how. Traditional Christmas Cards

Non Traditional Christmas Colors

Yesterday, I had planned to work on my Christmas cards at my MIL's house. I was going to make really pretty, fancy cards...until I realized I forgot my tool can, my Cuttlebug embossing machine, and all of my special adhesives (the kind that I would need for the fancy embellishments)! So I had to make do with what I had -- paper, stamps, colored pencils, ribbon and double sided tape.  My niece Jessica inspired these non-tradtional colored cards. I think these turned out really nice in spite of the fact that I didn't have all the stuff I needed! They are simple, fun designs that would be very easy to mass produce! Sounds like a great Christmas Card class to me!! For just $15, you can make 10 cards (2 each of 5 designs) with matching envelopes. Just bring your paper trimmer with a scoring blade and your own adhesive. I have quite the collection of Christmas stamps now so if you would prefer different stamped images, I am sure I have several that you would love! We can also take your favorite scripture, Christmas saying, quote, etc. and put it on the inside. For an additional $5, I can personalize all of your cards with your family's name, and we can add a spot for a Christmas photo.

Just like all of my classes, this one is being offered by appointment only. What a great way to get together with a couple of your friends and check something off of your Christmas to-do list!

I love my mummy!

Here's a picture of a little pack of tissues that I covered to look like a Mummy. It was so cute! I stamped the back with the "I love my mummy" phrase. It was intended to be a prize at our party for whoever got the most scared on Halloween night. Our family is full of people who love to scare everyone else. This went to my mom, hands down. Jonathan snuck up on her while she was outside talking to my sister's husband and we thought she was going to come out of her skin. Good times, good times!

There are also a couple of little hershey nugget purses next to it. I made these from embroidery thread, buttons and the leftover paper pieces of the Halloween Tree. They were super simple and fun to make. 

Frankenstein Bag

Here's my Frankenstein Bag. I had this on the table as part of the favors at our Halloween Party on Friday. I know Halloween's over, but I still thought it was too cute to leave out :) I hope you like it! This bag is very versative and could be decorated differently on the outside for any holiday.

Pencil Holder

This pencil holder was a party favor that I made for the kids at our Halloween Party on Friday. I didn't have a chance to get it posted before now, but I figured better late than never right? The dollar store always has pencils for every holiday/occasion, so just imagine these in Thanksgiving or Christmas themed paper :)

I included all of the supplies that I used in the photo here. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of the pencil holder all by itself. Fall Festival

We have made it a family tradition to take our kids to OBC's Fall Festival every year. The kids love it and they always have so much for them to do. Here's our family pic this year. My niece Savanna got to spend the night with Kalyn on Friday so she got to go with us!

Harvest Scarecrow Bags

My sister asked me to help her make goodie bags for her son's preschool class. They were having a "harvest party" for Halloween. We worked on these this past Tuesday and we were both really pleased with how they turned out. What do you think? Kagen's Surgery/Big Cheese

Thanks to all of you who had been praying for my sweet little Kagen! His surgery was last Friday, and he is doing great. You would never know that he had anything wrong with him to begin with, let alone that he had surgery. Here's a cute picture of him with my glasses on. I think it's in my top ten favorite pictures of him. What a big cheesy grin!

Happy Halloween Everyone!

I am so excited about Halloween this year. I think we have finally got all of our costumes figured out. I am dressing up as a witch, my husband is going to be a trucker redneck (no, it was not my idea). Kalyn is going to be Hannah Montana. Caleb is going to be a doctor and the baby will be Clifford the little big dog :)

I will be busy preparing food today so I will not have time to show any of the other projects we did for the party yet, but I wanted to show you the pumpkin that Jonathan carved with Caleb. It turned out so cute. He has been working late all week so he hasn't been able to do Kalyns yet, so I guess that will also be on today's agenda. He is making a Snow White pumpkin for her.
