Do you have a Cricut? I have an Expression machine and I love it! I use it for everything :)
Well, I have to admit that I have never read the user manual or tried to figure out how to use any of the special features when I purchased the machine. I just kept things "simple" for myself and learned by trial and error. Mainly error :( Until now! I thought I would share with you some interesting things you can do with your Cricut Expression Machine (just in case you didn't read the manual either).
The first thing I want to share is how to use the "Fit to Length" mode.
Say that you are working on an 8x8 scrapbooking page and you know that the title needs to be 6 inches across, but you aren't sure what height the letters need to be.
- Measure and cut your paper to the size you need it to be.
- If you like the paper saver feature, press that button.
- Make sure that real dial size is off!
- Adhere your paper to the mat, aligning it with the bottom left corner.
- Load paper into the Cricut.
- Set the dial size to 6" to cut your title 6 inches long.
- Press the Fit to Length button.
- Select the text to make your title. For mine, I wanted the title "Sweetie Pie". I typed it in just how I wanted it to appear.
- Get a pen and paper handy so that you can jot down the size that Cricut automatically estimates for you. (You will need this in case you want to make a shadow for your title later.)
- Press the cut button and be ready to write :) It only shows the number for a couple of seconds. (Mine was 1 3/4.) It automatically cuts your title to fit the 6" that you told it to!
How cool is that? I am falling in love with this thing all over again!
As soon as I learn how to do something else, I will let you know :)
