My $2 Tutorial for today is for a cute monogram key chain notepad. These would make great little gifts for the people in your office. You can customize them with their monogram and inside is a little post it pad. It is refillable, too. Haven't you ever needed a piece of paper to jot yourself a quick note or leave a quick message for someone else? Now you will never have to search for scratch paper again! Just grab your keys (hopefully they don't get misplaced as easily as mine do) and write your note and you are on your way. You can also make these in any holiday theme or color scheme you'd like. The monogram is just a suggestion! Click on the Email Me Link on the sidebar to reserve your spot for the tutorial. Remember, all supplies are included for these tutorials. Once you learn how to make one, you can just purchase the additional supplies you need to make more. (Or you can use your own stash at home.) Hope you are all having a great Monday :)

This is one of my favoritest things to make :) I think that it's adorable! It's a 16.9 oz water bottle cover/drink mix holder. You can customize it with a monogram, yourfavorite team colors, or for any holiday simply by changing out the color scheme. It would be also be great to give out to teachers or to the parents at your kids sporting events. If you would like to learn how to make the Water Bottle Bling, click on the "Email Me" link on the sidebar to schedule your appointment.

New Again Brad Paisley & Sara Evans
Here's an awesome video & song that my friend Mariah told me about Saturday when she came over to crop with her Aunt Lisa. It's a duet with Brad Paisley (playing the role of Jesus) and Sara Evans (playing the role of Mary, Jesus' mother) and they are talking about him dying on the cross. It's a beautiful song, and is even more awesome when it's paired with scenes from "The Passion of the Christ" movie. I hope it moves you :)
Me and my friend Lindelon are co-teaching a class called "Scrapbooking Your Faith" at our church on Wednesday nights. The class is based on a book by Courtney Walsh and it's the best book I have ever spent money on! One of the layouts is about a girl who got a butterfly tattoo when she rededicated her life to the Lord. Inside the body of the butterfly was "2C517" which stands for 2 Corinthians 5:17. This verse says "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." The significance of the butterfly was to remind her that since she became a butterfly she never has to be a caterpillar again". I love it! Almost makes me want a tattoo :) A cute little butterfly one anyway :)

When I opened my "Scrap Happy Design Studio" in August, I had a two-day Grand Opening Special with free make & takes. I also had scheduled classes every Tuesday night, Thursday morning and every other Friday/Saturday night. In September, I offered all of my classes by appointment. I held $5 Friday Crops, and offered free studio time Monday - Friday from 10-5. So far, my feedback for classes has been great, and people who have come here to crop have really enjoyed the atmosphere of my studio. (It might help that they get to do a really neat project for free, and are showered with other free gifts at each crop!)
I have been racking my brain trying to come up with something new and exciting to try for October. I think I have figured it out! Are you ready? Here it comes....
October Special of the Month: $2 TUTORIALS
I have so many little projects and ideas in my head of things that I would love to teach people how to do. It's hard for me to combine them into one particular type of class, so I have decided to offer $2 tutorials for all of those projects. Don't worry, I will be posting pictures of a new project every day. You'll definitely want to subscribe to my blog now :)
Here's how it will work:
I will have a category called $2 Tutorials on the side of my blog. You can think of these as a "mini-class". Simply figure out which one(s) you want to do, and call me directly to schedule time for your "tutorial" send me an email to let me know which project you are interested in. Your $2 will cover the cost of all the materials* & embellishments for making the project and I will show you how to complete it, step by step. (I will also email you a copy of the instructions for later use.) There is no limit to the amount of $2 Tutorials you can take. (*Please bring your own adhesive or you can purchase some in the studio.) I hope that you all like this idea an are excited about the upcoming tutorials! I can't wait to hear your feedback on this idea :) I am looking forward to a great October!

My friend Tawnya gave me this yummy apple scented candle for my birthday last month. I had been burning it all day on Friday so my house would smell good for my weekend crop. The aroma of the candle, the cooler temperatures and a generally happy feeling just put me in the fall mood. I noticed that the first official day of fall was on Sunday and it seemed only natural to have a fall themed project for our free make & take.
Let me share it with you!
It was very simple to make :)
I used a deep orange cardstock base, cut to a 4 1/4 square. I added a golden yellow mat, on which I punched a scalloped edge along the bottom (love me some Stampin Up! punches). Next I dry embossed some leaves (Fiskars embossing Templates) on the brown triangle in the right corner. I have collected a bunch of cute fall stamps and this scarecrow is one of my favorites. I had to use it! Plus, I love to color :) I stamped the scarecrow with a black stazon ink pad and colored it in with colored pencils. I used a decorative corner punch to finish the edges. Next I mounted the scarecrow on another piece of the deep orange cardstock. What do you think of that cute little sentiment, "Happy Fall Y'all". I love it!
If you are interested in making some fall cards, contact me to set up a private class for yourself and at least one friend. You can also stop by the studio to purchase a precut/prestamped kit with instructions and materials to make 12 cards for only $10!

Do you have a Cricut? I have an Expression machine and I love it! I use it for everything :)
Well, I have to admit that I have never read the user manual or tried to figure out how to use any of the special features when I purchased the machine. I just kept things "simple" for myself and learned by trial and error. Mainly error :( Until now! I thought I would share with you some interesting things you can do with your Cricut Expression Machine (just in case you didn't read the manual either).
The first thing I want to share is how to use the "Fit to Length" mode.
Say that you are working on an 8x8 scrapbooking page and you know that the title needs to be 6 inches across, but you aren't sure what height the letters need to be.
How cool is that? I am falling in love with this thing all over again!
As soon as I learn how to do something else, I will let you know :)
