Finally, the last picture! This calendar is meant to stand up on your desk top or other flat surface. To view the inside, simply untie the ribbon and feed it back through. I love the colors in the summer portion of the calendar! Greens, purples, orange and blue -- reminds me of the beautiful summer flowers. Check out the ribbon embellishment, too! I repeated the ribbon theme on each one of the verse circles. It helped cover some of the white space and added a little extra dimension.Hate to keep you waiting so long, but tomorrow I will show you the winter side and give you class information so that you can make one of these cute desktop calendars for yourself!
Here's a view of the spring side of the calendar. Look at all the details! There are several layers on each side of this calendar and each piece is inked to add dimension and texture. I love the fresh start of a new year! I am so excited about what is going to happen within my family and my business in 2009.
I hope you had a great time last night and today - welcoming in the new year! Last night we had some of our friends and their kids over for dinner and games. It was fun to get together with them again. They always make us laugh and they always bring great food, too. Today I spent time with my husband and kids. We went out for lunch and then to the mall. We are fixing to eat a Chicken Pot Roast made with Homemade Gourmet seasoning. YUM! After dinner we are going to curl up on the couch and watch a movie. Okay enough of that -- as I promised in my previous post, I have lots of pictures and projects to share from all of the Christmas gifts I made this year.
This first one is a calendar. Each season has a side and displays three months. How I wish I would have made more of them so I would have one for myself! I am always having to do an online search for a current calendar when I sit down to pay our bills every month. This calendar would be a cute solution to that problem. I was trying to build up my stock of handmade cards for everyday uses - birthdays, hello, etc. so I made these cards from some bases and coordinating patterned papers. They would make a great gift for anyone. Who doesn't ever need to send cards, right? It's so much fun to color and these stamp sets are perfect for that! Have you ever found a card that you really liked on the outside, but the sentiment on the inside just isn't what you had in mind? How cute is this little Hershey Kiss holder? It holds 4 hershey kisses, but can be adapted to fit more or less. This cute little seal stamp has a scarf and santa hat!
